3/21/2024 0 Comments Kentucky mandolin km 700![]() There is a comparable Loar as well, but good luck getting your hands on one. Great looks, great sound, very playable, well built. For the one day (literally) that it was there, I had a chance to play around with it. The play/sound really, really good and would probably do well for you for a long time.Īs a next step up pricewise from the two above, I recently sold a Kentucky KM-1000 in the shop that was an amazing mandolin. If you're looking for an F style, the Loar LM-700 and the Kentucky KM-700 would definitely fall into the category of being a great buy. I'm not a mandolin player, though I do play around on a mandolin from time to time. If you're looking for something that is going to definitely increase in value and have no issues with budget, then go shopping for a vintage Gibson or any number of other boutique builders that build great instruments. If your goal is to find a great playing/sounding mando that you won't be afraid to take anywhere for under a grand or so, then see the next paragraph. Like buying anything these days, what you go after depends on what you hope to get out of it and how much money you have to spend. ![]()
